National Festival - Indian Election

We are in the week of the Mega Election 2024 in the World's Largest Democratic Nation. Every 5 years, people of India are asked to poll votes for choosing their representatives. The choosen representatives have defined role to play in the Indian Polity. The Governance in India is distributed as Union Government, State Government and Local Self Government. The Prime Minister becomes the Elected Head of the Government of India. The Chief Minister becomes the Elected Head of the Government of a state. Municipal Corporations and Panchayats have their elected heads at their levels.

The upcoming Election is on choosing the parliamentarians. The Members of Lok Sabha (House of the People). As per the Indian Constitution, the Lok Sabha has wider powers than any legislatures in the Country. The role of MPs are very important in National building. Some Historic Acts and Amendments were brought by the MPs. And some others were discarded by the MPs. So, it is very important to choose able policy makers for us. Most of us get confused with the MPs and MLAs elections. Ofcourse, it is important to see the welfare of the constituency or state. However, it is very important to choose MPs beyond the above mentioned welfare, that is Ideology.

Extremism at both the ends (left and right) are dangerous. But the trend of high right wing extremism has to be tackled in order to maintain the welfare of all the people especially the minorities. Right wing is always dangerous as it is poised as against inclusiveness and deep developmental strategies. The country is at its peak to decide the better policy makers, save the people's interest and uphold the constitution of India. We witness the party in power at present misusing the institutions of the Government, had almost lost its control in reaping the demographic dividend (as there is a too much of unemployment and underemployment issue), crony capitalism, Non-Secular activities, Regional Propoganda, Unsolved issues with Neighbour countries, anti-democratical acts like horse trading of MLAs, Criminalisation in Politics, Lack of trickle down economic approach and more.

Yes, a decade ago, this Government was brought against the erstwhile corruptionist. However, very few of the corruptions were proven and most of them were an exaggerated allegations by the right wing extremists and the then media. Also, the recent legalised corruption (Electoral Bonds) that was struck down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court is the mega scam not less than the corruptions of previous regimes.

But, the UPA(2004-14) during its tenure brought historical acts like MGNREGA, RTI, RTE, POCSO etc,. We are yet to say one such historic act by the 10-years of NDA(2014-2024) Rule.  I ain't saying to vote for INDI-Alliance or Congress. This is to say, to whom we must not vote. This is for Everyone, who has to know everything before pressing that one button that turns the fate of the nation for five further years. By this election process we shall prove our worth and elect an able Government for a Universal & Sustainable Development. The current opposition does not have a PM Candidate officially, but that shouldn't stop us from not voting them. The same occured during previous elections too. 2004 is a very good example, where we got a talented, able, well knowledged PM Dr Manmohan Singh. This time too the history might be repeated. If the policies of NDA seems to be better than others and you certainly beleive in them once again, you can cast vote for NDA. Voting to other than NDA or INDIA, is just a diversion of vote bank still better than abstaining from voting. This election is not on state affairs, it is to send  Policy Makers inside the Parliament. Vote wisely. Try to understand politics. Don't be a prey to right wing biased media and people, that does not show the real face of India and Indian Polity.

Democracy must thrive. Welfare of the people must be the priority. Hope this Election have more percentage of Votes polled since Independence.
